What is e-Aadhaar?

e-Aadhaar is the electronic version of the Aadhaar Card, issued by UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India). It is a digitally signed PDF document that contains all Aadhaar details such as name, date of birth, gender, address, and Aadhaar number.
e-Aadhaar is equally valid as the physical Aadhaar card and can be used for identity and address verification across government and private services.

Various Methods To Download Aadhaar Card Online

Below are detailed steps on how to download your Aadhaar card using different platforms:

1. Downloading via UIDAI Website (myAadhaar Portal)

• Visit the Official UIDAI Website: Go to https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in
• Choose Aadhaar Download: Select the “Download Aadhaar” from the my Aadhaar section.,

• Choose one of the following:
  • 1.Aadhaar Number – (12 digits)
  • 2.Enrolment ID – EID (28 digits)
  • 3.Virtual ID – VID (16 digits)

• Enter Captcha: Type the security code displayed on the screen,
• Request OTP: Click on “Send OTP” to receive a one-time password on your registered mobile number.
• Select Aadhaar Type: Choose either Regular Aadhaar or Masked Aadhaar for privacy.
• Verify and Download: Enter the received OTP and click “Verify and Download” to save the e-Aadhaar PDF on your device.
• Open the PDF: Use any PDF reader and enter the password (first four letters of your name in uppercase + year of birth, e.g., AMIT1984).

The mAadhaar app, developed by UIDAI, allows users to securely store, access, and manage their Aadhaar digitally on a smartphone. The app is available on both the Google Play Store (Android) and Apple App Store (iOS).

• Install the App: Download the mAadhaar app from the Google Play Store or App Store.
• Select Language: Open the app and choose your preferred language.
• Log In: Enter your registered mobile number and tap “Submit” to receive an OTP.
• Verify OTP: Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number for verification,
• Access Dashboard: After logging in, go to the dashboard and select “Download Aadhaar” under “Get Aadhaar.”

• Sign in to DigiLocker: Go to https://digilocker.gov.in or download the DigiLocker app OTP.
• Find UIDAI: In the search section, type “UIDAI”, select it, and then choose “Aadhaar.”

• Enter Aadhaar number: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number and confirm with the OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
• Download Aadhaar: After verification, your Aadhaar will appear under “Issued Documents.” Tap the download icon to save the e-Aadhaar PDF.
