UIDAI Joins Hands with Sarvam AI :-

In a major step to improve Aadhaar services, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has joined hands with Bengaluru-based AI startup Sarvam AI. This new AI technology partnership, active from March 18, will bring voice-based Aadhaar support and AI fraud detection system to make Aadhaar updates and verification faster, safer, and more user-friendly for Indian citizens.

How the Partnership Benefits Aadhaar Users

With the launch of AI-based voice assistant support, users will get a smarter and easier interface to access Aadhaar services online. This new system will help users give quick feedback on Aadhaar enrollment and update status, and will also detect overcharging by service providers in real-time.

In addition, real-time fraud detection technology will improve Aadhaar security by sending instant alerts for suspicious login or authentication activities. The AI-powered Aadhaar system will support 10 major Indian languages like Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Odia, Punjabi, and Malayalam, with plans to add more regional languages soon.

The initial agreement is valid for one year, with the possibility of extension for another year. UIDAI’s move to integrate GenAI into its services underscores its vision for a more technologically advanced and user-friendly Aadhaar ecosystem.

Additionally, Sarvam AI’s founders recently expressed their intent to submit a proposal under the IndiaAI mission, aiming to develop foundational AI models in collaboration with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
